Entropion
Can you imagine to have only one hair in your eye?
What would you do?
I´m sure, you would do everything to get rid of it at once!!!
Entropion means, that (mostly) the underlid turns in and not only one (!) hair is in the eye of the dog! He/she is not able to help him-/herself! But you MUST!
Once I talked to a very well known breeder/handler, who showed me a bitch in the veteran class. She did not want to open her eyes anymore because of the heavy entropium on both sides. I asked him, why he had not operated this wonderful old lady - and his answer was: Then I cannot show her anymore.....!!!
Can you understand to let a dog suffer its whole life for these personnel ambitions? Me not!
What OFA recommends, I cannot understand too! A dog with an entropion should be operated at once and it goes without saying never to breed from him/her!
